Attended the Production Design Workshop Day 1, held at the Rizal Mini Theatre! So far, it was one of my 2 favorite workshops done by ENTA, the other being the Basic Acting Workshop I had last year. We had Lights Design in the morning, and Costumes Design in the afternoon. I liked the Costumes Design more, but Lights Design would be better if there was a longer time for it, it lacked more of the hands-on part of the workshop.
The Lights Design workshop was by Sir Luther Gumia. We're not really familiar with him, but based on the pictures he showed us, I think he is a very good lights designer. He's really humble, too. Parang madali siyang makatrabaho.
He showed us some pictures of his works, and gave a lecture about Lights Design. He also showed us different kinds of lights used in theaters. Mejo kaunti lang yung hands-on part kasi kulang na sa time.
In the afternoon, we had the Costumes Design workshop by Jean-Pierre Reniva. This one, I like! Masaya mag drawing kahit hindi pa ako masyadong magaling. And it's really cool conceptualizing and having a different vision and attack on a play.
Jean Pierre also let us draw a character from Ang Henerala, but the challenge is to change the period and try depicting the character in a different way. Here's the costume I made for Candy:
Overall, I like the whole-day workshop. I'm looking forward to the second day, which is still next week. We will be taking up Set Design!!! This I really, really look forward to!!!
After attending the workshop, we had late afternoon meal at McDo. And we watched Tanghalang Ateneo's summer prod, La Ronde. Well, it was okay for me. I liked the comedy parts but it was kind of dragging and I can't really connect to the serious conversations. But it was ok.
After watching La Ronde, we had dinner at Jollibee. After non, umuwi na kami. Tapos naglakad na ako pauwi ng dorm. And nag-emo na naman ako habang naglalakad sa may soccer field. :O HAHAHAHA. Si KLF kasi!!! Siya ang may kasalanan. Pinapaasa niya ako. :| GRRR.
I don't really wanna talk about that emo thing. But it really makes me sad. Maybe I will blog about it in the far future. :))
