As soon as I learned that the pictures were out, I instantly wanted to blog about this thing!!!

I want to present the first ever play I have directed! Held during ENTA's Basic Directing Output at the Fine Arts Theater last March 6, 2010. During these weeks were some of the busiest days of my second semester, and it was really, really stressful. But it was all great and it was an unforgettable experience for me, since it will always be a first time. Here's the main poster that I did (surprisingly, in PowerPoint only):


The play was written by Cas Casumpang, a senior student then. The play is actually a fable and deals with the real meaning of happiness for the ensemble of cast and how to live this happiness.

First stage was attending the two-part Basic Directing Workshop that were held around 3-4 weeks before the actual output. These 2 workshops were done by Rolly Inocencio and Pat Valera, both known theater directors. After the workshops, we were given 2 weeks to prepare for a one-act play output written by the writers of imahe|nasyon, ENTA's writer's bloc.

It was really stressful for me because I had to deal with these things: find my SM's (Stage Managers), my cast, costumes, props, etc. And of course, I also had to conceptualize and give my cast the script analysis, make a schedule for rehearsals, etc. Luckily, all was well.

These were the characters in the play:

I'm grateful sa mga nakuha kong actors kasi magagaling sila at napaka professional pa! AHIHIHI. Napakagandang experience kahit maraming mga unexpected turn-outs, katulad nang pagkaiwan ng costume ni Manok sa EntaRoom. That is why we have to compromise and find costume for Manok.

I'd like to thank Jackie and Timmy Gabito, my stage managers for finding the costumes and props. :) I like to thank Cas for writing this wonderful story!
